December 26, 2008 -- Moline, IL. H & R Accounts, Inc., an emerging provider of healthcare receivables management services, has hired Shaun M. Magill as Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Magill joins H & R after a 19-year career at Iowa Health System (IHS), the state’s largest health system with 10 hospitals and $2 billion in revenue. During his long career at IHS, Mr. Magill was responsible for overseeing all patient accounting functions for the network, including billing, insurance follow-up, cash application, collections, customer service, and compliance functions. He managed a staff of 145 FTE and was responsible for the selection and implementation of all software and vendors used within the Central Billing Office. Shaun started his career as an auditor at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa.

In his position at H & R Accounts, Mr. Magill will oversee all operating areas of the company and will guide the company’s IT strategy.

Mr. Magill holds a BA in Accounting from Simpson College. He has served in various capacities at the Iowa Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, including as Chapter President from 2005 to 2006.
