March 31, 2009 -- H & R Accounts, Inc. finalized a program document that complies with the Red Flags Rules Identity Theft legislation. In summary, this new regulation requires Creditors and Financial Institutions to have reasonable policies and procedures in place that detect, prevent and mitigate identity theft in connection with opening or maintaining Covered Accounts. Part of this regulation provides guidance to creditors and financial institutions to take steps to ensure their Service Providers implement policies and procedures that detect, prevent and mitigate the risk of identity theft.
The purpose of this program is to support the Company’s clients by having policies and procedures to detect relevant Red Flags that may arise in the performance of the Company’s activities, and either report the Red Flags to the affected client or consumer, or to take appropriate steps to prevent or mitigate identity theft.
